The President has been clear that it’s the FAKE NEWS MEDIA that is the enemy of the people not THE MEDIA
Donald Trump has called the fake media an enemy of the people quite a few times. He has noted, however, that media outlets have changed his statement to “the media is an enemy of the people” purposefully leaving out the word “fake”.
Here is an example of a CNN reporter repeating the charge that Donald Trump calleds “the media” an enemy of the people during an interview with Ben Stein.
“He said.. he called the media the enemy of the people.”
What Trump actually tweeted:

Mr Trump clearly referred to the “fake news media” as the enemy:
